best ball for the buck imo
« on: August 22, 2006, 11:53:24 AM »
i have had 2 power grooves both teal purple,1st one was stollen, and the second one I bid on last year and forgot to pay for. this one i had drilled by one of your friends ,dont know his name on here ,but man do i love this ball . price after shipping and drilling is about 70 bucks . I am pretty sure this ball is gonna make that and some this year. I have had some balls that i thought i was crazy about ,but this thing , man. Maybe because i am such a bad bowler i needed to throw low end stuff ,but what ever the case, this polished power groove has all the back end you will ever need on a med to light shot. the carry with these balls is phenomenal. they come sanded my driller hit it with 1200 grit and then polished it . If you ever see one on ebay ,they are always there for 10 bucks, its a great investment. when this thing finds dry its comin in hard,if you miss left it will sit down in the oil and just when u think its a wash, 10 in the pit. I can play it up the boards and it will skate for 50' and then come roaring back if there is oil and when the lanes break down it opens em up like a can opener. And its so predictable even in my hack hand.I picked up a passion for 80 bucks drilled and it really isnt much stronger than the groove, its a good ball dont get me wrong but i play maybe 2 boards right with the groove ,(its polished). I think you would be hard pressed to find a ball this good Imho for the money.

If I get the post right: yes, the Power Grooves are great balls for the money. I think one could get along very well with just a polished pearl reactive and a sanded particle one or the solid one.

Would you like another one and just pay shipping?

Wow, your Teal/Purple is drilled just like mine...

...and wow, your cuts are about the same as mine...

...you sure you didn't grab my Teal/Purple while I wasn't looking?

Seriously, I have two of them, and I'm considering using them as a two-ball arsenal for Winter league.  Second shift, what more could I possibly need?

Ya might want to take a few breaths while typing - hard to read one big block of gab.

While the powergrooves are nice balls, if you bowled on any decent volume of  oil, you'd see a huge difference between a PG and a Passion.  Now I think I know why you didn't like your MoRich WMB.  Balls with strong covers and strong cores NEED oil or they look terrible and hit like mush.
