How much stronger
« on: June 12, 2009, 12:29:52 AM »
In general is the Maxx Zone with that 600grit PlaZma coverstock going to be in the oil than my Cooperhead putting it at 500grit abrablon? RG and Diff are very close. Just wondering if the PlaZma is really that much stonger a coverstock all things being equal.

My guess is that they are fairly close, however I do think you'd see a little more late movement with the Maxxx. Having said that, I'm probably not the best authority because I can't get anything that dull to hit and carry for me.

Early reports on the Seige appear to be the one ball that may be different from both of the above. I'm waiting patiently for mine to arrive (okay, not so patiently).

Yeah, I thought they would be close. I think I'm going to get the Maxx and polish up the Cooperhead for a strong 1-2 although I do have my eye on the Rattler to go with the Cooperhead at 500grit. Summer decisions!

My Copperhead is shined. I LOVE it that way. Good luck.

The Plazma coverstock is actually MUCH stronger than what's on the Copperhead.  However, that being said a C-Head at 500ab can handle a good amount of oil.  The Maxxx Zone I find to be extremely strong and rolly.  So if your looking for that extra little kick in the back the C-Head might be the better choice.  I typically use my Maxxx on FRESH heavy conditions, say 1st game of teams at Nationals, however I find that once the heads go dry up the slightest bit, i have to put the Maxxx back in the bag.  I typically have hand scuffed it with a dry 500ab pad before bowling.

If you want STRONGER, go with the Seigeon July 6th, that thing is a beast.  If you cannot wait another 2 weeks then dulling the Copperhead is not the way to go, in my opinion at least.  Dulling the copperhead will start it earlier and the weaker core will putter out slightly.  The copperhead is meant to get through the heads and start in the midlane with a slight kick.  The Maxxx is a much more gradual shape and is constantly working, through oil and doesn't really burn up much on the back.

I guess it depends on how you want to play conditions with more volume.

If you want earlier roll, and a smoother transition off of the back of the pattern, either the Maxxx in box or the Copperhead at 500 would do the job, although for me, the Maxxx pops more off of the friction.

If you want a stronger transition, or more continuation in back, then I'd wait for the Siege.
