Siege and Alpha Max
« on: March 21, 2011, 04:50:35 AM »
Just wondering for of you have both of these ball. Can you tell me the difference of ball reaction. I have the Seige pin under ring finger stacked. I"m thinking of getting an Alpha Max pin under bridge cg kick out. If both are great for heavy oil. With the layout i just mentioned for Alpha Max anyone think is good for heavy oil too? Thanks

The Siege tends to roll more from front to back, while the alpha-max is cleaner through the front and more angular at the break.

What kind of reaction do you want from the alpha-max?

I"m just looking for another heavy oil ball. I like my 3.5 also drilled pin down under ring finger. I was hoping to get the Alpha Max that compliments the 3.5 but more of a stronger finish.  Not only having one dull ball which is the Siege i wanted to add the Alpha Max. I'm just thinking about it getting the Alpa Max. I haven't used my Siege much cause of lack of oil. But I'm hoping to use it in nationals next month. I didn't have a chance to use it last year cause i all got cought up using the 3.5.

IME the alpha-max has all of the oil-handling capability of the C-(S) 3.5, but has a much more dramatic move at the break.  I have one drilled pin-down that I'll use when the pattern is longer or flatter, and I need the ball to pick up the midlane more.  I also have one drilled pin-up that works well for me on longer patterns that are more blended, where I want to open up the back end.

Hope this helps.  Let us know how you end up drilling the alpha-max, and how it works for you!
