Similar To Super Trooper
« on: February 06, 2006, 01:30:49 AM »
Can anyone tell me what is close in reaction from Brunswick to the Columbia Super Trooper. I've got someone on my team that has one and he wants to try Brunswick. It appears to me that his Super Trooper is really smooth and doesn't fly off of the dry on the 37ft pattern wooden lanes that we bowl on. He tried my Smokin Inferno and it's drilled for length. He couldn't keep it on the right-side of the headpin.

Since the ST has such a low RG Differential, along with a polished solid resin cover + a low RG, nothing in Brunswick's current arsenal would be close to the ST, from what I can see.

The solid Power Groove (teal and purple?), now discontinued, if drilled properly, might have emulated the ST.

Maybe a short pin on a Nemesis, highly polished and drilled to be both low RG (pin close to, but not on the PAP) and low flare, might also emulate the ST. Not sure if it can be done.

The B'wick balls that might have been closer were probably some Rhino Pros from the late 1990s or the Power Blitz Purple from 3-4 years ago, and possibly the Walter Ray Williams MVP ball.

Well... this won't be much help, but my Track Freak-A-Zoid was very similar to my Super Trooper. LOL! Why did I even reply with that??

Some BRUNSWICK balls to consider:

Punisher
P.Groove Reactive OR P.Groove Dry/R... I would suggest knocking the shine off these balls to produce a similar reaction to the ST.

Hope this helps, LOL!

IF you can get your hands on a Rhino Pro Teal on eBay, that'd be your best bet.

Blazing Inferno should be very close number wise. Super Trouper is High RG/Low Diff as is the Blazing.

Bruns Nick is correct on the RG-the Diff is super low as well. I misread the numbers, my bad.

On the Brunswick Insiders page awhile back-Rick B described a process of drilling out the Diff on an Ultimate Inferno for Sean Rash. Maybe an e-mail to him for some info........

Here is the link for the info that Rick B shared on the Brunswick Insider site: http://www.brunswickinsiders.com/PBATour/PBATournaments/2006tournaments/Milwaukee/Qualifyingroundsmasters.htm

It is near the bottom in the paragraph before "Let the numebrs speak for themselves" under the info about some of the quipment that Sean Rash had layed out for him for the Masters.

This was in reference to drilling out the Diff in a ball. He was doing this to an Ultimate
