Return of the chicken wing.  For the life of me I can't seem to get my arm to stay straight.   I still think my timing is off.  I am always open to suggestion.

Lol first get rid of that music. You are on the side of the ball in the backswing and at release looks like your throwing a spinner. You need to really focus on staying behind the ball. Push out to your target with your ringer finger and let it lead into your target until the release. You got that elbow bent too. Push out on your 2nd step not third since you have a five step approach. Get the ball under your shoulder in your stance not so far left. You may have a ball fit issue.

Hey now, don't dog my Beastie Boys.

I thought it may be my drill specs that cause me to constantly be on the side of the ball in my swing.  Thanks for the feedback.

Its not just the ball specs hindering you from being on the side of the ball its just compounding it.

I understand what you are saying.  My original specs got lost when I transferred to Hawaii and due to a break-in at the pro shop I used to work at I started from scratch when I got here..

I wish I had someone here that could work with me and point these things out so I can correct on the fly instead of watching the vid when I get home.

I will take your suggestions into account when I practice tomorrow.

So what song would you like to hear in my next vid?

Beastie boys are cool if thats the kind of music you look. They are legends. Starting from scratch isn't always too bad. The pro-shop just has to get it right the first time or through trial and error. Are there no qualified coaches there? A few dollars spent on one would pay off more than those different bowling balls.

Maybe I will ask locally regarding a bowling coach.  I do have 2 new balls my wife got me as an early birthday gift, (Zone Classic, Absolute Inferno), that I want to save until I can correct my issues.  There is one PBA certified shop here so I may pay them a visit this week and play the video for him.

So give me a song to use for my next video.  I got over 30gig of all kinds of stuff.

Give me some new rap or r&b. Thats a good idea to wait and look for a coach. Where are you located?

And people say my armswing looks like it hurts!

You called me out to help, but I don't understand how I can when it is related to your drill specs?

Yea your timing is way off. Thats probably another reason for that elbow. You have to accelerate it through the swing for it to catch up. Cure. Push on that second step.

BrunsNick - When I fix the fundamentals, (after a few coached lessons), I may send my next ball to you for drilling, (after I go see the PBA certified pro shop).  Or perhaps you can take a vacation to Hawaii.

Roy E - Are you referring to me?  In all my years of bowling and as bad as my mechanics are, I have never fouled.  Oh, I know what you're talking about.... The line you see is a reflection from low ceiling, not the actual foul line.

Strike - I can clearly see what you are talking about; I am pushing out on my third step instead of my second and it's throwing EVERYTHING off.  I need to practice more because last week I had actually corrected the problem but had no vid at the time.

Columbia - My original equipment was stolen when the pro shop I worked for got broken into.

I am not good at explaining things, but I will try. I think part of the problem may be a timing issue. You take 5 steps and you don't even begin the push-off until your 3rd step is half way to being complete. By this happening, force must happen some where in order to get everything to the foul line at the correct time. Your 4th step is almost complete and the ball is still going back in the back swing, so you bend your elbowto hurry the process in order for everything to be in time at the foul line. With this 4th step and swing not on the right position and probably varing from shot to shot, this bending the elbow allows you to adjust your timing. If you get your arm straightened out by the end of the down swing, you can still have a good delivery and release, but if you keep elblow even partially bent at the end of down swing, you are going to chicken wing the release......Been there....Done that.
