Thank you, Nick. You mention that you scuffed the surface with a white pad - what's the reason? Had the ball been too squirty at OOB polish? Your SZ in the video still looks pretty shiny, though, and a very smooth reaction. Looks promising

Our house has been testing new cleaners and lane oils over the last few months. Almost every ball comes back feeling slimey, so Factory Finish High Gloss has not been the surface of choice. White pad has been money.

So THAT'S what caused the earthquake in southern California Tuesday!

The Smash will definitely handle anything from medium to drier shots depending on layout, surface prep, and of course, bowler versatility. (Dang that bowler versatility part!)

What do you think, Nick?

How this thing compare to the Original Inferno?

From what I have seen most people have scuffed their swarms and polished their copperheads

I think this ball is very similar to the Original Inferno remake in the Rico video, www.brunsnick.com/rico_inferno.html . As far as handling dry lanes, I think there are better choices in the lineup. The core in this ball creates a lot of torque.

Is the Pap really in your ring finger (as shown in the video), or did you mean Pin?

The pin is in his ring finger, it's 4" from pin to pap which is marked with a white spot on the ball.

OK, I thought it was pointing to the ring finger, my bad.

We all answer questions based on our own experience. Those of us whose rev rate is still in the "mortal range" might be able to use it on drier (not scorched) lanes as long as we can move left and throw right.

I understand the torque idea, but torque off Nick's hand and torque off my hand don't seem to look the same...
