Title: SmashR - Solid PK18?
Post by: dizzyfugu on December 02, 2006, 03:30:16 AM
I know this has been discussed soem time ago with hybrid coverstocks and the like - I'd like to know (or maybe someone has valid knowlegde) if the old Monster SmashR is a solid or pearl PK18 ball? I think it is, despite the silver color, a solid coverstock version - but not sure at all?

Any help woud be appreciated. Thnaks a lot in advance!

Says 800 grit wet-sanded PK-18..  I would take that to mean its a solid?

Not a lot of pearls dull OOB, huh?

I think this has been asked a lot before.  Some say solid-pearl blend, but if I remember correctly, Ric's said it's a solid.  Just looks pearl but isn't.

Thanks a lot for your input! I found an old NIB SmashR at my pro shop, and I am thinking of getting this one, hit it witha higher grit finish and use it for medium conditions/late games on oily shots. I guess it will hardly over-react.

I believe you are correct. It looks pearl, but it is not.
