smokin inferno
« on: October 11, 2006, 02:25:59 AM »
hi does anyone have any videos of the smokin inferno?

also is this ball able to combat heavy oil, and if not are there any drilling patterns that can be done for it to take heavy oil?

thanks

I haven't thrown one, but I would say, unless extreme drilling and cover prep is done, the Smokin' is not at all for heavy oil. Some people debate whether or not it's even good for standard mediums. I wouldn't advise trying to use the Smokin' on heavy, as there are many better options better suited to do so. However, if you are going to insist on trying, I would look into a very early-rolling drill pattern and a very low-grit cover prep.

IMHO, this is not an oil ball. Rather a medium to medium-dry/light condition ball. Quite similar to the Punisher, just overall a tad stronger. Needs dry boards to work - but if it hits dry ground, it really flips.

Hallelujah!!! SOMEONE AGRESS WITH ME!!!

The smokin is NOT a heavy oil ball what so ever. I use it for the broken down, more drier conditions. it seems to excel between dry and medium conditions. If you use it the heavy oil, it better be a spare ball. . .

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

Are you sure you all aren't confusing Inferno's?  The Scorchin is the heavy oil ball.  I can't imagine anyone thinking the Smokin is for heavy oil.

The Smokin hated oil and carrydown for me. When it found dry it was a great ball, but just a bit too conditional and unforgiving for me.

Smokin Inferno video on my website!

Great ball for a THS and when the lanes burn up for regional patterns!
