Smokin Inferno and BVP Rampage online
« on: July 12, 2005, 01:52:19 AM »
FYI. Check out the German Brunswick distributor website http://www.spobag.de/ for "official" descriptions (Both even in English language!)
Either click on the pictures there, or use the following links for direct website access:

there must be a mistake on the description of the rampage. it states the ball is intended for "medium dry to dry conditions". i've never seen a brunswick ball with powrkoil 18 reactive coverstock for use on drier lanes.

Its pearlized Pk18 like the Silver Diamond was and it was for medium light to lighter volumes.  I think they just chose poor in their word selection.  Dry always jumps out at everyone probably should read medium light to lighter oil instead of medium dry to dry.

But that still doesn't make sense, as the ball was designed to fill the gap between the nemesis and punisher.  The punisher is a medium-light ball, so if the description is accurate, I don't see how that will fit inbetween.

It is with the Impulse Zone. Would anybody use it on medium-dry (to medium-oily) conitions?

But only on the promo pictures... some real ball pictures circulated in this forum, and if you are not lucky the Smokin will look like a mixture or old car oil and soap baked together. But the Rampage looks nice, even when the colors are not strongly seperated.

Smokin Inferno
Chart Position: Q6
"With its High Gloss Polish finish the Smokin’Inferno will match up well on medium-dry to medium-oily conditions"

Q6 and medium-dry to medium-oily! Did I miss something here?

Doesn't it all have to do with how much hand (revs) and how much ball speed you have and the combination of those two VERY IMPORTANT factors?

I mean haven't you seen the same ball with that 99% label drill thrown by a wide variety of people. Some can use it on very dry conditions and other need a ton of oil to use it.

100% correct. Since there are too many variables, "medium-dry to medium-oily" is a good way to define the spectrum.
However, my curiosity, if I may say so, is about the combination of  "medium-dry to medium-oily" and its chart position Q6..
It doesn't make sense to me that you place it heavy oil part, even one cell stronger (but sharper) than Absolute and call it "medium-dry to medium-oily"..

When I see the SI specs and the chart position Q6... imagine a solid Activator Advance, low RG ball with a dull or Rough Buff surface (replacement of the UI in near future?). I am sure well will see the 175 hook potential soon. Hell!

So far, these balls are the real thing!

Our distributor in So Cal already has them, they picked up some remainders from the Mini Eliminator! w0000t!
