Hate My Smokin' Inferno
« on: September 10, 2005, 09:08:50 AM »
This is my opinion but i hate my Smokin' Inferno. I got medium-high revs, medium speed, and i have it drilled pin under ring. I can't do anything with this ball i must have left 20 splits with this ball and bowled 9 games with it. It comes in high if i dont get far enough left and its light if im to far right over 9 games i havent hit a SOLID shot with it. Im on medium lane conditions and swing it pretty good tried playing 5 and 4th arrows and inbetween all over/under reaction. Also i bowled like 120 with it so im like screw it and i pulled out my Storm Triple XFactor 224 all of my shots were solid... Any sugguestions?? sorry if its confusing. Im not giving up on it im still practicing. Thank you

If you haven't thrown a solid shot with it in 9 games, I don't think its the ball.. You think it might be you and where your trying to play the lanes?? I take it you are saying it hooks alot since its coming in high..

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)

geez. when i said solid i meant a real quality shot. i get it to the hole but it doesnt carry as well as something else alot of solid 6 pins and when i hit it that solid it leaves a solid 6 or stone 10 or something like that i didnt mean i havent had a damn strike in the pocket.. but come in light big split come in high who knows what happens but if your in the pocket then its fine it just doesnt carry as much as my other balls.. like i said sorry if its confusing obviously i get it in the hole.

Regardless of advertising hype there are balls that work better for specific styles and won't work as well for others. Example: After buying both the Labyrinth and Minotaur from Morich, and loving both, I bought a Collosus. This ball was horrible and I couldn't understand why until a friend told me it was a speed sensitive ball. Normally I am a "down and in" bowler with little hand and high speed, about 19mph, so this ball wouldn't work for me. I gave it to a friend with a pro shop and he sold it to an older gentleman with a slower speed who absolutely loved this ball.

 Words to the wise....

i dont know about most of you but with any ball even a house ball its insanely hard to leave a pocket 6 and if it was a quality shot and i mean something that might ring a 10 pin i dont think you would ever leave a pocket 6 unless the pins at your house are warped or something

Actually I am right handed and I have left a couple pocket 6's where the 6 actually spins a little bit and doesn't go down, and i have seen a few others leave it.  Super light hit though where the ball just drives the 3 pin straight back, barely hits the 1, etc.  No "solid 6's" ever for a righty but it is possible to leave a 6 pin.

Have you tried taking off the polish?
