I got a Gift Cert. at bowlingball.com and my uncle who gave it to me made me promise i would try brunswick (I throw Roto-Grip). Basically they are both very close to $70. I can play pretty straight (smokin) or i can swing it out (scorchin) but i cant decide on which one to get. Any advise on which is a better investment? Im leaning with the Scorchin.

Well they are both excellent balls, but are very far apart. I bought 5 of the Scorchin 2nds and 3 of the WP Smokins. The scorchin is a beast and is not JUST a hook monster. It NEEDS oil to work properly. The WP Smokin is one of my favorite balls right now. I did not like the original red pin smokin that much, but the WP version seems to give a longer and smoother but hard arc reaction. It will be usable on more THS than the Scorchin. Like I said, they are both excellent balls but both are very far apart. If this will be your only ball, I would pass on both and get something else for medium that will be playable on a wider variety of shots. If you already have a medium oiler, then yes..give either of these a try.
