Title: smoking vs rampage
Post by: KG_fo sho on April 16, 2006, 08:01:43 AM
i have the smoking right now and i love it, but i want something that goes a little longer but still has the great snap. would the rampage be a good ball for this or does it hook more than the smoking?

On most house shots I seriously doubt you'd notice enough of a difference to keep both of them, but on a lane condition that wasn't as forgiving I believe the Rampage would be smoother than the Smokin' and would not handle as much oil as the Smokin'.

Both of these balls OOB might not be your first choice on an over-under condition or carrydown unless some of the shine was removed.

heck, you need to see, check out Nick's videos on his website. i also checked those out and they looked like they rolled almost identically, but they were drilled rather different.

overall, the smokin' will hook a little more on the backs, and the Rampage will start a little earlier.

I feel that the Smokin is a little stronger in the oil and smoother off the dry. The Rampage skids harder in oil, but is stronger off the dry boards!

I have both and they are both drilled with the pin under the fingers. The SI is definately cleaner through the heads, and the rampage is a little earlier. The SI is better when the midlane is fried and the shot moves deep inside. With the rampage, I can go around the shot more.
