Just got a new toy...
« on: April 12, 2006, 03:10:37 PM »
The ebay itch came back to me today and I just picked up another Brunswick.  I should have a new Zone Classic here in a week or so.  I asked for a 2-3 inch pin and low top so well see what I get as to how to drill it.  Just thought I'd share as I'm pretty excited to see if this ball lives up to all the good things I've read about it.

I hope you didn't order a Red Pin unless you wanted a ball for totally toasted lanes. If it's a green or black pin with good specs that's one awesome, hard hitting ball. Enjoy!!!

Yes, I am getting it from bowlingball.com.  I have purchased stuff from the before and the specs were great.  Hopefully this one works out alright.

I got one from them on ebay and got exactly the specs I requested.  Just had it drilled yesterday and tried it out in league.  Shot first game with Strike Zone then switched when my line got used up.

First two games, 195 and 222.  Good Stuff!!

I never request specs, but they're easiest to deal with.  Most of the time I get decent specs.

beware...I had always dealt with bowlingball.com when ordering balls and they never disappointed me before...that is UNTIL I ordered a Zone Classic the other month and requested 3"-4" pin.

I specifically told them in my ordering instructions that if they don't have it, let me know before shipping.  Ball shows up a few days later on my porch with a 1-2" pin.  I emailed them TWICE asking why they did this and how they planned on handling the situaiton.  NEVER got a response.  Not too happy with them right and now and they may have lost a good customer.

I understand not having your specs in stock, but don't send something completely different and ignore repeated requests for contact.  Very unprofessional.

Like I said before, I've had no issues with them in the past, and I'll wait until I get my ball to make a judgement.  I hope I don't end up with something drastically different from what I requested, but if so I won't be that unhappy.  I am buying this ball of Ebay knowing that it technically isn't a first quality being a color blem, but I've heard and seen it rolls exactly like the normal green pin ZCs so I'm not too worried.

I'm really surprised to hear all the negative things about bowlingball.com!!

I've been to their site a few times, and it looks phenominal!  They have such a HUUGE selection... but aparently they stink! lol.

I don't think I'm gonna get anything from them... lol, unless i have to.

TxState, purchasing from bowlingball.com is not at question.  Some people have had issues buying the balls they put up on ebay in getting requested specs.

Well I just recieved my ball today, with the exact specs I asked for.  2-3 pin with 2.7 oz TW.  The CG is set to the left about 1 inch, which I don't think is going to affect how I drill it.

Bowlingball.com comes through again for me.

I won a Monster Bruiser from them off eBay for $37 shipped.  I received a ball that matched my specs request exactly.  I will deal with them again if the opportunity arises.
