So Close with new C-System 3.5!
« on: January 05, 2010, 07:29:55 AM »
Thanks to the local Brunswick Ball Rep, I was able to get my hands on this ball last week.

Today in league, at a center I have been struggling in, I was able to shoot scores of 232, 280 and 287 for 799!

This ball really opened up the pattern for me and I was able to find some area that I haven't had with my other equipment.

I have submitted a full review for this ball in the review section.  I can't wait to get back on the lanes with this ball!

This is a perfect compliment to the C-System 2.5, when a stronger ball reaction is required!

Great bowling! I used mine tonight for the first time. So far this one and the Evil Siege look like "slam dunks" and nice additions.

The 3.5 is noticeably stronger due to the fact that it has more of the "chemical friction additive", so to speak, than the 2.5.

This one handles oil better than other pearls, yet can still finish stronger than most solids. Not as good at "down-and-in" as the original, but opening up the lane is easy with this beast.

Have you been getting dishonest feedback?

Many of us on here try our best to answer questions based on our own experience.

"Feedback" is going to be based on about a zillion different variables. We all bowl on different lane conditions, as well as having different attributes to our physical game: Ball speed, rev rate, axis tilt, lane surface, amount of conditioner used, type of conditioner used, fresh back ends or not, temperature, humidity, and the list goes on...

For me to compare the two only helps one to understand the difference based on the conditions I see, not necessarily what you routinely see.

I have never wanted my 2.5 at 1000 grit. So I can''t answer your question (honestly).  But I SUSPECT that there would be some similarity on the midlane read, it''s just that no ball at 1000 should be as angular late on the lane as the other at 4000, in my (honest) opinion.

10 pin, I have thrown my 3.5 enough to say this. I do have one 2.5 drilled 50x5x70 at 1000 grit. I had it this way trying to get the ball smoother on the back and that is exactly what it does. Now, I drilled my 3.5's like this, one is RICO and the other is 70x5x40. The RICO layout has more downlane motion then the 2.5 at any surface. Now, I have not taken the 3.5 to 1000 yet and probably never will unless I am bowling on like scorpion or shark because it will be way too aggressive. I feel the the 2.5 and 3.5 will NOT overlap in anyones arsenal. The 3.5 is a 2.5 on steriods, more midlane and more downlane plus it looks sweet going down the lane.

10 pin,

No offense taken. That's why I put the in there. I was reminding us all that true comparisons are hard to come by. I'm certainly not the throwbot!

It looks like Adam has some good information for you. Good luck and keep throwing strikes!
