Maybe they just polished it to make it look good for the picture. Unpolished the Strike Zone looks pretty crappy.

I agree with charlest on this one. Polish can really bring out colors that are much more difficult to see without.  The Fury solid is another prime example with some as the purple coloring comes alive in many of them.

Some balls have the pearl look, although manufacturers deny using "pearl" to make the ball. For Brunswick, the Smash/R is a prime example. I'd swear on a stack of bibles that it was half pearl, half solid, as a rep said here one day, right after the ball was introduced. But since around 2005, Brunswick denies that this ball has any pearlization in it. Go figure.

NIB 16 Strike Zone, with almost perfect specs...(drool)...

I should take a pic of my teammate's Fury.  I saw it before it was polished, and it looked pretty uniformly dark blue.  But when he brought it to league for the first time after he had it drilled, I could have sworn it was a Fury Pearl with all the purple that the shine brought out.

You're right, it doesn't have any pearl that I'm aware of. The one we drilled for my son looks just like that one, with some lighter blue and white streaks.

It also has been seen in several Red Zones. Like Rico said, it usually occurs on the first "so-many" balls molded right after a run of pearls were made if the lines were not flushed properly. I really liked my Red Zone "pearl". I also had a Strike Zone "pearl", but I needed more hook than what it gave me, especially on the carry down. They DO look good though.

Rob,

How much pearl was in it?
I have a NIB Red Zone that has hints on pearl in it, but nothing like the Strike Zone seen above.

Beautiful dark cherry finish on it too.
