Title: something like a super trooper
Post by: ksmanuel on November 15, 2005, 11:58:50 PM
i had a super trooper drilled with a 1-2" pin underneath the bridge
It was a great control ball, but it cracked into three pieces

What ball in brunswick's lineup would be comparable? Nemesis?

Nope. too stong a core.

I don't think Brunswick currently has any weak cores these days. You could do a modified drilling on the Teal/Purple solid resin Power Groove but they've been discontinued; you might find some on Ebay. It's has a rougher (400 grit) surface and a higher differential, but surface modification and a weak drilling can easily bring it into line with the ball reaction of the ST.

Some of the older Rhinos were much like that Super-Trooper: Polished solid resin with very low differential and lowish or medium RG.

Closest would most likely be a Punisher.  Brunswick doesn't have a low-flaring solid in their lineup.  Next best thing you could do is try to match R.G. numbers and go with a lower flaring drill and put the same finish on the cover.

The Blazing Inferno was a higher RG/Low Diff ball from a couple of seasons ago. If you can run one down, it might bring you pretty close to the Super Trooper.

I bought an used one off E-Bay to try out and it is very clean thru the front with a small read on the back. I have been using it on the scorched fronts & backs condition with good success. I also have a blank 15 LB in the box, I might be willing to part with as well. PM if interested.
