Starting Back .. Checking with ya'll on a Arsenal
« on: December 13, 2011, 02:36:45 AM »
Looking around the board, alot of the old Visionary guys are over here so... I decided to try Brunswick stuff.

Looking at their current line I thought a Nexus, Karma Solid and Lethal Revolver would be a good start.

Pap +5 3/8 and 0
Med rev rate with 16 - 18 mph ball speed.

Any thoughts and comments ? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Audric.  Have not seen you in quite awhile.

Ask Ray Salas....I think he can give you a good idea how Big B equipment will fall in their line-up.  Also don't by-pass DV8.  Good equipment I've had both the Reckless and Misfit.

I will concur that Ray is a good source. Here is my take in the mean time.

Nexus Solid is very clean and very strong late for me. A whole new look from a Brunswick solid.
Lethal Revolver is an everyday favorite for me. Strong and smooth arc shape. I have a tiny bit of polish on mine and love it.
Karma is not weak, but is a step down from the Lethal. The polished cover gives good length and the core keeps it under control when the lanes are opening up.
If you are considering a pearl that can be used pretty much every day, take a hard look at the Massive Damage

Good luck to you, and let us know if we can help.

I agree on the Massive Damage. A very underrated ball. And the Nexus Solid is an absolute monster.

Both of these balls have unusually good carry and would fit well into an arsenal. I can't speak for the others.

Having used all of the new balls that have come out in the past year, they have all worked well on tournament or house oil patterns.  I would suggest that you use the Lethal Revolver as your medium oil ball for house or tournament conditions as the benchmark.  With the 2000 out of box surface, it will cut through the heavier oil and still have a strong backend reaction.  When the Lethal begins to hook too much, the Massive Damage is a great transition ball that can be used as the first out of bag as well.  With the polished surface, the Massive Damage will get down lane farther and have a stronger backend reaction.  The other ball that I would suggest for when the lanes transition and open up is the C*(System) Ulti-Max.  The Ulti-Max will clear the front part of the lane, and have a strong backend reaction and works good on medium oil patterns.  If you are looking for a VERY STRONG reacting line of balls, then the Nexus series can handle the heavier oil conditions.  The Nexus Solid is the strongest ball in the Brunswick line, and the Nexus Pearl is the strongest Pearl in the Brunswick Line.  The Karma Solid and Karma Pearl would be good for house conditions and can handle medium oil.  Good luck with your decision, and let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for all the info guys, I recently purchased a Nexus p+F, a Karma ( Just because of the core ) and a C System Alpha Max. When I get them in and Drill them, I will add to this post.
