Vapor Zone a dud?? Brunsnick??
« on: March 19, 2006, 03:17:07 PM »
Okay, Ive been watching everyone else with their vapor zone and my ball just dont hook like im seeing these other balls do. Heres the layout:

----O-O`-
------'--
-----O---
--*------

` = Pin
' = CG
* = MB
Theres no x-hole. Let me know what you guys think cause with this my ball just doesnt snap on the backend like I expected. My Rampage has more backend then my VZ! Im thinking about plugging and redrilling it like this:

----O`O
-------'
-----O----
--------*

Pin up a little higher then that but thats a general idea im thinking.

When you hear it from a US open champ and one of the greatest left right switchers of all time...you've heard it from the top!

REgarding the question on mb being near thumb or track....IT can be on weaker mass bias balls ...those with mass bias ratings under like .012.....BUT NOT THESE BALLS and not on ALL OTHERS with high mass bias ratings!

And not any other balls that tell you NOT to put the mass bias near track in the drilling sheets....LIKE THESE BALLS!  And like THE ONES....AND like the XXXs...and like the Vertigos...and like the TRIFECTAS...and like the WMB and like the SHock and AWES and SEEK and Destroys....(all balls on this list mass bias OVER .018)

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS however one CAN put the mass bias near the track on X factors(not XXX factors)....Columbia Drives and Alter Egos.....Morich TA, MAYHEM, RAvage, SAHARA.....TPC Warrior, Player, etc.  ANY ball with a lower mass bias.
PPS....when in doubt...READ the drill sheet!!!!

Well tonight prooved my point. Nearly everyone in my friday night leauge has a Vapor Zone, there were 4 (5 including mine) on the ball rack, I set all 5 side by side, everyone had the PSA either under or right of the thumb. 3 of the 4 that werent mine fit my hand, I got permission to throw each one, WOW!!! LOL my vapor zone looks like crap compared to these. The farther right the PSA the crazier the hook is on it. None of these balls were OOB Rough Buff but polished 1500 grit. Still a massive hook, their balls i shot 30 to 12-5 (break point). My ball, 23-15. BTW my PSA is 3" or so left of the thumb, i track right over the PSA pin. I will get it redrilled stronger, even if i have to use an x-hole.

I forgot to say this. I talked to my current driller. I layed out the way i wanted the ball and ive been wanting to learn how to drill up my own equipment and all that, so he said "how do you fell this ball should be drilled for you, for your desired roll/hook??" I layed out pattern, he said "you just might have a career of running your own shop, you even put the x-hole right where it needs to be"

So it looks like i learned alot from this site about ball drillings and layouts!

BTW, thanks to everyone who responded to this post, espescially 2 of the Big B staffers!
