Red Zone Vs Radical Inferno

As of now i have the scorchin` inferno and it's done me well but i'm looking for a step down from that ball and these 2 seem to fit that role so really i'm just looking into opinions on the differences in these balls

ok yeah as of now i have a small arsenal and i was leaning towards the radical over red zone but i also think the balls are similar so i'll see

I have a Radical and I really don't like it all.  Not very predictable very small margin of error.  If I try to play inside the ball sometimes will not make it back and if it does make it back it hits weak.  Also if I try playing the outside line it just go through the nose.  Too much over/under, polish will probably have to come off?  Maybe its just how I got it drilled:  The layout is 4 x 3 3/4  If you want something more predictable and controllable go with the Red Zone.  I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Hey Wloo, I am in the same situation as you are only I'm debating between the Radical and the Widow.  I have a NIB radical sitting here right in front of me.  Why does such a nice looking ball have to be the cause of soo much debate (at least for me).

The Widow has its praise by many people on this forum.  People even have 2 widows in their arsenal, they say its that good.  The Radical is kind of a mixed bag, but something about the ball prevents me from selling or trading it.  If only i were rich enough to just buy/drill these balls at a whim.

Wloo..I've gotten PM's from people that have both the Radical and Widow in an arsenal.  They say if you take the cover on the Widow down to like 2000 grit and keep the radical in OOB that its a great 1-2 punch.

As for Red Zone and Radical...one is Polished, one isnt.  I think if you drilled the Zone strong and the Radical not so strong, like a label drill, it would be fine.  Use the RZ first, then when the shot starts to dry up, use the Radical to get through the dry since it supposedly goes wayyyy long.

Um . . both the Red Zone and Radical are polished, highly polished as a matter of fact.  I have both.  Hotshot kinda hit it, the Radical is really touchy.  I've had some good success with it so far, but it makes me get tight.  If the shot for it is there, it WILL destroy everything, but it's kinda condition specific, with the box surface anyway.  From 3rd arrow on a short pattern, there is no better ball to be found . .  However, the Red Zone may change that opinion once I throw it more.  It does everything that the Radical doesn't.  Strong and predictable on the backend, and still goes longer than the Radical would from a line further right.  The Radical was designed to be angular, but it's all cover.  It doesn't rev very quick at all (and I've got it drilled strong) but it sure wants to take off if you try to move right with it.  Even though my experience with the Red Zone is limited so far, it's sure impressed me so far, and it doesn't take me long to get an accurate read on how a ball is going to act.  I'd have to suggest the Red Zone.

I have them both. Red Zone is very strong off the friction. Radical is very smooth like the Smokin'. I may have to change the surface to 2000 grit Abralon and leave it without polish. I threw both of them in a regional last weekend on Pattern 3. Red definitely seemed to give me more margin for error if I kept the speed solid. I went to the Radical when the shot started to burn and it was still a little touchy if it went too wide from target.

I had the same look/problem with the Smokin and Punisher. After I made some surface changes, those balls livened up. In the box from the factory, the Radical has a slip of paper that says to hit it with a white scotch brite if you are looking for more performance. White scotch brite and 2000 abralon both smooth up the surface and effectively are less touchy than the factory polish.

I will respond more after I have a chance to do some surface prep to the Radical along with some side by side comparisions to some of the other "go longer" pieces in my arsenal (Rampage, Blazing, and Classic).

Well I am a inferno person but with all the hype on the widow I had to try one got it drilled up and tooken down to 500 grit and i love it, left the radical at out of box condition and for me they are my 1 2 punch
