Brunswick Hidden Gems
« on: December 18, 2003, 07:01:23 PM »
Brunswick has released so much stuff in the past 10 years alot of the best balls went overlooked.  In my opinion some of these were:

Battle Zone Missle(so strong, yet smooth.  very powerful at the finish.  its like an old Rhino Pro on steriods)

Green/Black Monster reactive(just punched this one, WOW!  incredible backend reaction and continuousness through the pin deck which I love)

Control Zone(was a bit skid/flippy for me but awesome reaction)

Command Zone Arc(the fluffers and strokers complained it didn't hit well but anyone with a good amount of hand and a clue can tell you how great the ball was in their hands.  Its not too often a company comes out with a ball that is so versatile for high revrates)

Attack Zone MR(Core construction would lead you to believe there wasn't much to this ball.....wrong  I've got 5 1/2 inches of flare out of mine and a killer finish at the deck, unlike most three piece modified weightblocks)

anyone else?

I have to agree with you on the Missile.  A great ball that most people seemed to overlook.

You mentioned the Attack Zone MR.  I had an Attack Zone R (sans Mica) and it is one of my favorite balls for medium to light with dry backends.  I shot more 250+'s with that ball than anyone else did on those conditions.

What about the Danger Zone Red Alert Nightflash!
--------------------
Just once I'd like to show up at a place with the lanes FLOODED 45 feet down and flat.  That way I can watch these crankers struggle to find the pocket and leave splits while I come straight off the corner and do nothing but make 4 pins and 10 pins all night.

I don't recall this ball getting a whole lot of attention when it came out - how 'bout the Speed Zone?

I loved my Pro Zone Jade Quantum, Pro Zone Violet,
Rebel ECX, Demolition (awesome zone), and the Battle Zone Bullet(great unknown gem) paid 18 for mine!  Best go long pearl I've ever used and I've put up against probably 10 other pearls!

But my numero uno hidden gem is the Walter Ray Williams MVP!!
What an incredible dynamo!  This baby is smooth and then what a powerhouse backend carrying machine!

Considering what I think of Pro Zone Violet and Demolition that above is saying a lot!

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS I hate to say it but I HATED the Battle Zone Missle.  The thing was very grabby and very jumpy for me!  Very high gloss finish out of the box!  Maybe I should have altered!  I've seen it look GREAT for others!

the most overlooked brunswick ball during the reactive era was the johnny petraglia lt-48 gold. this ball was made between 1997 and 1999 and mated the powrkoil 18 reactive coverstock with the core from the rhino pro le. this was always my "go to" ball when i needed one.

I am not a "Big B" person, but the probably the best Brunswick ball I have used to date is the Rhino LE.

Hook, controll and tremendous carry. I know I could sell atleast 5 of them NIB if I had them.

I think the original Command Zone was absolute ownage on the lanes :0, and of course the Danger Zone is the obvious winner still

Another vote for the LT-48 gold. That ball should have been the biggest hit they had.
