STRIKE ZONE W/SHINE?

Has anyone put a shine onto a STRIKE ZONE? I am just looking a for a ball that will work when there are dry lanes and was wondering if putting a shine on a new STRIKE ZONE would give me what I am looking for. I usually stand 10 and throw up the 5 down and in. I am able to move inside, but it feels uncomfortable for me. I guess it just feels really weird. So any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

For REALLY dry lanes I have an ONSLAUGHT. So putting a shine on the SZ will give me a good ball for medium to medium oily lanes? On oily lanes, I can not complain about the SZ. As long as I am near my mark, it will come back. Even if I tuck it, it will hold a little longer and then move to the pocket.

Isnt a red Zone more or less a polished Strike zone????

A friend of mine polished his SZ after not being happy with the OOB reaction. Ball was a dudd. With the polish, the ball was even worse - no movement at all, even on s scorched lane. But I do not blame it on the ball, rather on the drilling.

Nevertheless, Activator is basically a "long" coverstock, and polish should give you extra length. But I guess that it would also be a matter of drilling to match the ball up. I would not have the ball stacked, rather look for a smoother breakpoint and maybe even an early rolling drilling, just to avoid overreactions on the back end.

are you insane? my SZ can be a backend beast, and most times it is. mine is angular as all hell for a solid reactive, but it can roll like an Ultimate Inferno on the right pattern.

answer to the question is, absolutely not. polishing a Strike Zone doesnt make it a dry lane ball. buy a Power Groove Dry/R if you want a dry lane ball.

He said in a previous post that he has a Morich OnSlaught for dry conditions. It sounds like hes looking for a stronger ball to go up 5 with and have enough hit at the pins for nice carry. With my experience of a Strike Zone, it wasnt very angular at all. I say give it a shot, of you dont like how its working out change it up.

Wasn't this gone over a billion times.

The Red Zone has the same exact cover as the Strike Zone. But the Red Zone is factory polished. Factory polishing burns the polish into the cover, more than you can do at home.. also, colors of resin tend to do different things to ball reaction... and red is supposed to make a ball go longer.. which resutls in more of a backend snap because of the energy retention.
