C Systems Surface Alterations
« on: December 18, 2009, 02:48:53 AM »
Has anyone changed the surface of their C- System , added polish is what I'm specifically looking for.  What grit did you use to put the polish over the top of: what were you looking for: What were the results: Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have 2 C-System's and both have had surface changes.

First one is 55 x 4.25 x 30 Pin up
the other is  45x 4.5 x 75 pin down

The pin up I changed to 2000 + Magic Shine
With the OOB it was starting up a little quick for what I wanted so by adding the polish it gave it more flip on the back and a little extra length, very good ball for when I see carrydown or the other one isnt turning the corner.

The pin down I took to 500 with Magic Shine, it still starts up early as intended but doesn't use up all its energy throughout the lane. The one is awesome on fresh oil,  help control the break a little better.

I added a small amount of polish (Storm extra shine) to mine and it has allowed me to use the ball on the higher friction surfaces. The thing that amazed me was that the ball was still very predictable on the lane.

I took mine to a white pad, which is about 1000 to 1200 depending on how old the pad is, and then shined it to the hilt with Re-new It.  I needed it to go about 2 feet down the lane further, and got about 3 feet doing that.  It was great to begin with, but I wanted to be able to throw it more often.  I just wish they made another one that would be a bit straighter than the original to begin with.

Who needs a 300 or 800, when I have a 294 and a 295!?!?!

My speed is higher than my revs, so I needed to add some more surface to the ball to use it on med-heavy conditions (especially with the pin-up drilling on it).  I just ran 600-grit sandpaper over it and a gray pad.  Can't wait to try it out!
