Almost gave up on the Twisted
« on: January 16, 2008, 02:22:22 PM »
Got a Twisted for Xmas. Drilled it pin above index finger and PSA at 45.Very little reaction.Drilled a flare hole 2 " at the Mfg's recommended position. Still not finishing at all , hitting very weak. As a last resort I plugged the ring finger hole and drilled one hole leaving the pin 1.0 above the ring finger hole, that left the PSA at around 70 degrees What a difference. Now it hits hard and carry is great. Anybody that throws as slow as I do, 13-14 mph with about 200 revs and you want to try one,get a 4.0 pin and enjoy the lenght and back end that this lay out will give you. My PAP is 5 1/4 x 5/8

what is the surface perparation ? mine is very bad on a heavy carry down lane, always leave 1 and 10 pin in the first shot, seems like there is no margin of error if miss left, mine surface is 1000 without polish. pin above finger and 45 PSA

This ball is not good for anything but a spare ball even sanded to 1000.
Buyer beware.

Lane1 , the ball is at OOB. As far as it being no better than a spare ball, I was thinking the very same thing until I changed the layout. It's too early to tell but it could take the first spot on my arsenal on THS. Maybe I just lucked out on the layout change but the difference is night and day.

I was already redrill mine from pin above with 55 to 45, my friend one is pin over right with 75. same result,,, the ball skid , skid and skid and cannot pick up enough roll to the pocket, the rolling phase is very hard to transit, always leave strange spare combination.

Was your re drill better with pin above and 55 to 45? Or was your friends better at 75? I could not understand what you meant, sorry?

ha,,, with 55 to 45,,, ball changed from OOB to 1000 grit, a little bit better when the backend is clean, hook 5 board more and 2-3 degree sharp..but still cannot handle carry down well, good when practice, no more than 3 board move, but such in league play because of lane change quickly.

the 75 degree one is only a first arrow straight shot ball.

the class logo make me feel the 'back to the future', ball shape bring me 10 years back feeling.
