Twisted vs Sidewinder
« on: November 11, 2007, 02:56:27 PM »
I was on the Brunswick site looking at the specs of the Twisted Fury and Sidewinder and noticed that the hook potential was higher for the Sidewinder.

Hook Pot    Length    Break Point Shape    Flare Potential

Twisted        115       105        80                  0.036
Sidewinder     120       90         65                  0.045

If i'm reading this right. The Sidewinder has more hook, but the Twisted has more length with a sharper break point with less flare.

Then I see this on bowlingball.com

Perfect scale: Twisted    217.1
               Sidewinder 165.4

WTF?  This makes no sense to me. Can somebody explain this?

I wouldn't pay much attention to Bowlingballs.coms "perfect scale" whatever the hell that is. They look very similar in overall hook but the Sidewinder will stronger in the mids and smoother downlane, while the Twisted will give you that big skid/flip reaction.
