Hi, picked up a NIB on ebay in 14lb to experiment with lighter bowling ball due to some nagging injuries. Looking for any feedback on this ball. Was going to drill kinda strong since it supposed to have a mild cover.

I've had both the Fury Pearl and the Tour Edition. Both with the same layout. (4x4 pin up) What I saw was the TE was a little cleaner thru the heads (1-2 ft. longer) with a little smoother back-end. (2-3 boards less)

I have the Fury Pearl and the TE drilled the same and the TE is a monster on the backend compared to the original. If there's a large volume then it will be longer, but on medium don't be surprised if you are farther left with your feet with the TE.

Have you asked Brunswick about that situation, given that the TE is supposed to be a smaller hooking with less backend ball overall, as described in their website

I picked up this ball to replace a red pin Zone Classic. This ball is definitely stronger than the Zone Classic. With that said this is a very good ball. Gets down the lane with a hard arc on the back end. Drilled with pin over ring finger and cg swung out to left with no weight hole(left handed). Slightly less ball than my Black Widow Venom. Where this ball differs is it has a hard roll versus a more skid flip reaction. Ball carries very well for me. Last two weeks shot 225-247-238=710 & 248-256-224=728. I would'nt consider this ball a true dry lanes ball.

No I didn't and I wasn't too concerned because some weaker balls will backend harder than any high end when there is oil up front and dry backends. For example, my blue/pink power groove out hooks a lot of balls in my bad on our house shot. It saves so much energy until the end it snaps like mad. The TE is similar for me.

Do all TE's have that rediculous giant pin? It looks like they drilled a thumb hole by accident and plugged it up orange

I like my Fury Pearl TE, but found it works better by knocking the polish off the ball. Mine is drilled RICO, and works great across a variety of medium oil lane conditions. I have heard from some Brunswick guys that the original Furys work better polished, and the Pearl Furys and TE's work better sanded. It's funny because I have my Fury at 400 w/rough buff and love it, and my Fury Pearl TE is a straight 4000 abralon, no polish, os I guess I like them the same way!! Good luck.

I do understand that on lighter oil, a weaker ball will outhook and out-backend the stronger coverstock ball, but I thought you were saying the TE outdoes the standard Fury Pearl on all conditions??

The Fury Pearl needs more oil (than the FPTE) for its strong reaction. That's why I never bought one. When I heard what the TE was supposed to be, that made me want to try one. I face lighter oil and have always liked the PK 17 cover more than the PK 18 (I know the FP does not use PK 18).
