Comparison of TFS and BZ
« on: September 15, 2008, 07:23:51 AM »
I'm debating between the Twisted Fury Solid or the Blast Zone for heavier conditions.

Right now I'm bowling on a pattern where the heads are flooded so its hard to get much hook/angle.  My ultra zone is doing ok, but if I'm a bit fast, then it blows past the breakpoint.

Once the shot breaks down, a sort of over under situation develops due to so much oil being against clean back ends.

I'm hoping one of these two can handle oil a bit better and help smooth out the over-under reaction as the lanes break down.

Twisted Solid for sure. From what you describe, the Smash would squirt more than the Ultra IMO.

Both the Blast Zone and Twisted solid are pretty smooth. The Blast will rev up instantly, whereas the Twisted solid's core is a medium RG that, in my opinion, will save more energy for the 2nd half of the lane.

With either one just make sure you're not afraid to adjust the surface to match your condition. For many bowlers 2000 abralon seems to be a good balance between earlier read and backend recovery. Good luck.
