Need a replacement light oil ball
« on: May 29, 2003, 03:28:31 AM »
Hey, I bought a detonator a little while back and loved it so much that I decided to get an Inferno from my league.  Right now I also have a polished Messenger Ti from Columbia 300 for light oil.  The thing has kind of died, and it quite inconsistent.  I was thinking a Monster ScreamR.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How about one of the grooves?? I wouldn't class a Scream/R as a light oil ball, myself!

for lighter oil conditions the monster screamR would be an ideal ball. the power groove reactive would be an even better value.

As is the Red/Black Monster, a much undervalued ball.

yes, the red/black reactive monster is a great ball for drier conditions. if you can find one it's worth a look.

The Proactive plum power groove, is a good option. it is good for lighter tournament shots. with a particle it can smooth jerky reactions easily.

MrH:  If you've been using the Messenger Ti as a light-oil ball, and you're looking for something comparable from Brunswick, you might want to consider the Fuze Igniter.  IIRC, the RG numbers are similar, and the RG differentials are almost identical.  I've found that I can use a polished Igniter on drier lanes;  it's clean in front, and recovers and hits extremely well from deeper inside lines.
