Abralon Finish Close To High Gloss Polish

I was trying to get my radical back to box surface and after checking brunswicks website I saw that you need brunswick's polish. I unfortunatley don't have any so i was wondering what surface i would need to get the ball to if i wanted to use just ordinary polish.

Even if you had the High Gloss polish from Brunswick, replicating factory surfaces  at home isn't practical.  

Any polish with abrasives in it like the HG polish will do basically the same thing.

That would include Ebonite's Powerhouse Factory Finish polish...

Brunswick's high gloss polish is not supposed to have any abrasives in it. Lanemasters Factory Finish polish also does nto have any abrasives in it.

Brunswick's high gloss polish is not supposed to have any abrasives in it. Lanemasters Factory Finish polish also does nto have any abrasives in it.



I'm going off the list of approved products with solids or abrasives on Bowl.com... feel free to check for yourself.

In the regards of comparing the two you're referring to, I've found that the Brunswick polish does seem to polish more quickly than the Lanemaster's... *shrug*

Brunswick's High Gloss polish ahs always been considered to have no abrasives in it. I am not sure that what bowl.com says is "Brunswick Ball polish" is their current "High Gloss polish". Besides that, I would not consider that chart accurate. After all, Track's Clean and Tacky is also on that list and it is a clear, at least translucent cleaner, like Clean and Dull. It cannot change the surface texture of a ball, near as I can tell.

Well the factory finish high gloss polish is on the list too... maybe it doesn't have abrasives in it... just solids, whatever that means...

In bowling there are 2 general classes of polish: those with abrasives in them and one without any abrasive in them. Polishes with no abrasives in them, like Brunswick's High Gloss polish will allow the ball to retain the grit level of the sanding it has gotten before the polish was applied. Abrasive polishes like Storm's Xtra Shine, a very good polish, by the way, will further smooth the surface of the ball to a finer (higher numeric value) degree whiel also adding shine to the ball.

In the most general terms, probably 4000 grit is closest to the basic level of polish that the Radical had. BUT the 4000 grit matte finish ball will still react differently to the polished ball. Possibly too different for you to get the reaction you want. That said, many people thought thatthe Radical had too much polish to be of general use; so the 4000 grit finish could make it more useful for you. I can't tell.
