Yes, but it is a factory polish, and also some claim that the red color gives it a different hook.  I don't know if I buy that.

Is it actually the exact same version of Activator?  I was under the impression that the coverstock was a tweaked version and not the exact same thing as a Strike Zone with polish.

My understanding as well.  I've also seen the two thrown side-by-side, with identical cover preps and nearly identical layouts, and the Red was noticeably pushier and stronger off the break.

However, your mileage may vary...

All of the Red Zones I see look much more violent off the turn than a polished Strike Zone.  IMO the Strike Zone is one of the closest reactions on the market to the great Vortex II Sanded.  It's just stronger in heavy volumes.  The look a Strike Zone gives polished is very close to the look it gives dull, it just doesn't burn up as early but it's still strong and continuous through the lane.  The Red Zones are pretty angular and more violent off the spot than one would think.

It's between the Strike and Classic, a polished Strike is earlier and stronger than the Red.  It's closer to a solid Classic than a polished Strike.

First post, and I just had to jump in on this topic...

I bought my second Strike Zone (because I loved the first one so much) and polished it because I was unsure of the Red Zone and what it would do.  I thought it would play straighter with more snap, but NOOOOOOOO!!  I have to play DEEPER with the new polished SZ, and it makes a violent left turn, much like my Doom!!  Is this what I should expect?  All I did was polish the OOB surface on the SZ with Brunswick Factory High Gloss.  Yes, it makes a hard snap, and yes it needs oil.... is this right?

I need it to go a little longer and at the same time keep the backend snap, what's the best thing to do to the ball to make it more like the Red Zone (since everyone agrees that it goes longer and snaps harder)?

The Red zone is stronger on the backend than a polished Strike Zone.
