The Twisted Fury Is For Real
« on: January 22, 2008, 02:55:59 PM »
Anne Marie Duggan drilled up a Twisted Fury for me late yesterday after noon and let me tell you people, this ball is for real.

I wasn't able to throw any practice games or even throw a few balls with it before league today. Due to this, I almost didn't use it, but I have been bowling soooo bad lately and have lowered my average 16 pins this year from last year (even shot a season low of 468 last week ) that I decided to use it and suck it up even if I bowled bad again.

Well, let me say, this 14# Twisted Fury is unbelievable at getting thru the heads and arcing strong to the pocket with no quitting all the way thru the pocket. The pin carry was unbelievably great. I shot 201-216-207....624 out of the box with it. I know this isn't great scoring for a lot of you guys and 4 years or so ago it wouldn't ahve been for me either, but with my average being down 16 pins this year, it was great for me and would have been greater had I not gotten 2 splits the last 3 frames of the last game because i pulled the ball when I released it. I ended the second game striking out in the 10th and started the 3rd game with 5 in a row. I had 138 in the 5th frame and ended with 207 because of those 2 splits.

I want to say many thanks to BrunsNick for putting me onto this ball as well as supplying the suggested drilling for it to fit my style for the conditions I wanted a ball for. I am looking forward to more balls from Brunswick.

Well i guess whatever i recommend you should just buy the ball i think will not work hahaha

I am honestly surprised this ball will even wrinkle for you, i hope it raises your average up. For me the twisted has been a nice spare ball and i will take my Bite's over it anyday of the week.

Six, she knows. I was so excited with this ball today and just like a little kid, that I couldn't wait to go over to her pro shop after I finished bowling and tell her....lol

I would have to agree with you on this ball.  I have shot a total of 9 games with mine and am averageing 240 with it.  This is a very determined ball but i will say if I get it too far inside it will flat 10 me most of the time.  I have mine drilled Pin under ring MB about 2.5" right of thumb.

Great set.  Always nice to feel like the "slump" is ending.

To the Twisted "haters",
Anyone who doesn't like this ball is playing too deep with it.  That is the only way you could ever get into trouble with this ball.  Our house is slick enough that I don't use mine on fresh conditions, just as the lanes transition and everyone else is moving inward, I can stay outside and this thing hits!

You may be able to play deeper by adjusting the surface, but if you're expecting a heavy oil ball, it was never intended to be that way.  Not every ball is intended for the bowler to play the same line, or why bother?

Some of us like equipment to compliment the other stuff we have, not overlap it.  I guess if you never leave your "house shot", and you absolutely refuse to try a little straighter line it may not be your first choice.  I would refer you to the product video on Brunswick's website for what they intended the ball to be...

On edit, I did drill mine fairly tame and then I shined the poop out of it, too.

I am seeing this ball appear more in the league I am in. Watched Dustin Barr shoot 832 with it Wednesday night. He went 300 243 289. A few others have the ball as well. I have seen the ball in hands of people that are soft at release point and also people that hit the ball. It looks great for both styles. Only thing I did not like about the ones that hit the ball really hard is that it was very jumpy when turning the corner. The softer release people had a very smooth reacting turn. I am very impressed with the way this ball looks. Think I need to talk my wife into allowing me to get one.

I'm really enjoying this ball at the moment. Don't know how long it will last but I am going to enjoy it while I can...lol... I shot 228-161-245-212-186 in practice after a league finished bowling today. I had 3 consective splits the second game because I was moving my shoulder forward when I released the ball in trying to guide the ball. This has been a bad habit of mine at times this year.

I have now used this ball on a fresh condition as reported Tuesday when I initiated this topic and on a used condition as reported here today and it has worked on both conditions, so to me so far, this ball appears to be very versatile ball and able to score well on a variety of conditions.

Mines sitting at the Empire right now waiting to get drilled next week.  Andy left to drill bals at Nationals and Mike is only here three days a week.  It came in Tuesday but I was out of town all week.  I'll let you know how it works out...Jon

Ahhh I just might have to head back to Sioux Falls and head to Empire and "accidently" take a ball.

I used my Twisted Fury on yet another condition today. One with bad heads and carry down and this ball still performed well after I figured out what to do with it and I had to do something I haven't been able to do before with any other ball. I was forced to move left and throw right and I have never been able to do this before, but to my surprise I was able to do this with the Twisted Fury. I did struggle a bit here not being accoustomed to being able to do this previously and trying to learn where to throw and learn my limits and I was still able to punch out 602 for 3 games. Not great for a lot of you people, but it was for me the way I have been bowling this year being down 16 pins from last year.

I bowl again tomorrow and will post how that goes and then I will quit reporting as by then everyone will know how much I love this ball and that it works extremely well and anyone that doesn't have one is missing out.
