Time Zone Replacement
« on: August 08, 2005, 05:34:54 PM »
I have a Time Zone that is about to have the bridge crack out. Seeing as how it is my favorite ball and I cannot locate another one with a longer pin, what would be a good replacement?

I am thinking a Nemesis drilled the same way. The core numbers (RG, Diff, etc) are the same other than that the Nemesis is symmetrical vs. the TZ asymmetry. The cover on both is solid PK18, so if i shine the Nemesis up with some Brunswick polish than they should be pretty close to identical, right?

Brunswick guys chime in, but i would think the Rampage would be closer to the Time Zone.  It gets down the lane as easy as the time zone, and has really good pop on the back.  The nemsis, even polished, might be a little too early for what you are looking for.

I understand what you guys are saying about the Nemesis being earlier than the TZ, but how could that be if they are both solid powerkoil 18? Same coverstock + same finish + same core numbers = same reaction, right?

Megamav, I have another time zone sitting NIB in my basement, but it only has a 1.5" pin. My current TZ is drilled pin over ring, cg out with hole just past my axis. I need a 3-4" pin to duplicate this drilling. I see that you have an undrilled Time Zone in your profile, willing to trade?

mine is 1 & 5/8" pin, i plan on getting it drilled pin under ring finger in the future, until then its going to rot in my closet till my lane #1 stuff wears out.
ive found that time zones are extremely hard to find for some reason.
i dunno why, they havent been discontinued for that long.
    good luck finding a replacement.

oh, and i forgot 1 thing...
    try bowlingballmall.com
they have time zones i think.
and, if you can find one, get an international red alert plus.
i was told by tom tomaras that it has the same location on the ball comparison chart as the time zone.

wish i had knew that before i bought it, the red alert plus has a 1&3/4" pin.
