Order a Nemesis today...
« on: December 19, 2005, 08:44:44 AM »
For my wife, should be here Thursday.  Currently, she has:

Impulse Zone--pin under ring, psa at 45*
OI--Pin above ring, cg stacked, no hole
Dry/r--pin above middle finger, cg around 45*

Not in use, maybe for sale:
Snuffy spare ball
Valor P tour

When we had her other stuff punched up her PAP was 4 over and 1 up.  I looked at her stuff the other day, she is tracking much higher now and every thing is blowing past the breakpoint.  I would guess her PAP is now 5 over and 1 up.

I am hoping with an earlier rolling layout the Nemesis will turn up earlier than the IZ.  What do you guys think?????

Thanks Ric...

Her stats:

250 rpm
high axis rotation
low tilt
15 at the decks by quibica

What do you think of a 3" pin to pap, keep the pin low??  Should i go with a closer pin to pap measurement??

Maybe something like this:  http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fufunbean/detail?.dir=6578&.dnm=32e2.jpg

You could go farther, with the out of the box surface, it should be strong enough, say 4 to 4 1/2" to PAP

do we know exactly how she tracks? i'm a little suspicious of that distance with a pin down layout. granted a flare reducing hole will take care of any flaring over the fingers, but wouldnt that kinda defeat the purpose of that layout?

not doubting Ric at all, just going by what my Nemesis does with 2E(4 1/2, pin under) and the factory surface. and no, i dont flare over the fingers but i dont track that high, you say your wife's track has gotten much higher, so i've gotta ask.

Around a 1" from the thumb, 1.5 or so from the fingers.  I will have exact pap measurements on Friday.

Brunshammer, I track closer than she does, my pap is 5 1/2, 1/2 up.  I can use pin down layouts without any problem.

Got it drilled up, a good 3 boards with her feet stronger than the Impulse.  I think the main problem with the Impulse is the psa placement.  It is under the thumb and the ball takes forever to pick up a roll.

Andrew, if it is the Impulse Zone you got from me, the psa is approx. 1" right of thumb. I agree with you about it taking too long to move. This drilling will work for people that have "some hand", but I learned the hard way that it doesn't for people like myself that don't have "much or any hand." I was told by a staff member of one of the ball companies on this site that for someone like myself that doesn't have some hand, low revs, etc. that I should never place the psa or mb any further from my PAP, than what my PAP is. Example, my PAP is 4 3/4 x 1/2 up, so I should never place the psa, mb, etc. further than
4 3/4" from my PAP. I have since tried that both over and less than 4 3/4" and found this staff's recommendation to be true.......anyhow it is for me, but I can't speak for others.

Brick, I had an IZ drilled very similar to hers(yours).  I have some hand and I didn't have a problem getting it to tip, but I did find it extremely condition specific.  If I had clean backends I could tear it up, but any carrydown it quit unless it had some surface.

I traded that ball to fatboy, which I told him it was a good ball but a bad layout for me.
