Title: To those who have thrown the Twisted Fury
Post by: The SuperHitMan on April 16, 2008, 01:14:01 AM
How is it? I may be getting one for my birthday and last Big B ball I owned was the Intense Inferno (the best one they had). All opinions are welcome.

I don't care if my signature is long. Deal with it.

If THS is so easy why dont you have a 220+ average

mine is super smooth with lots of length and finishes hard.  i made the mistake of drilling mine with the pin above the bridge, it fits between like 3 other balls, so my opinion would be if you get it,  drill it strong since it is already built for length.

For me its a decent ball. Has too much over under for my likings OOB and I don't really want to adjust the surface cause on the PBA shots it works great but on a THS its just not what I look for.

I love mine, it's the only ball that I bring to league at the moment (plus my XXXL of course).

Pin up, 5.5+ pin to pap, 45 degree MB (Easy length, strong reaction at break-point, continous though the pins, i.e. not 'hook-set')

It will handle from anything med-light to med. Also good for short pattern. Put it away if it's med-heavy or long pattern.

It always comforting to hear that I can drill something strong and still get a fair amount of length, My other picks for the birthday present were the Gravity Shift and the Kinetic Energy. Thanks Guys!

The Twisted is intended to be used close to friction. I like mine when the other stuff starts hooking too soon, or if I want to play straighter outside lines. VERY predictable off the breakpoint, yet still gets down the lane easily.
You can use it like many of the skid/snap balls, except it's not "jumpy" on the drier boards. That, in my opinion, is why the ball is so good. Strong layouts are preferred for the majority of bowlers.

definitely get it and definitely drill it strong.  make sure your driller does not put the pin to far above the bridge or the ball will go dead straight.  With the enMotion coverstock, the pin should be maybe 1/2 inch close to your PAP than normal.

I've had mine since early January and I love it. I have not been a Brunswick fan in recent years, but have to say this is one of the best Brunswick balls I have owned and it is definitely a keeper. Drilled 4 1/2 x 4 5/5 MB with Pin half way under bridge.

Greg has called it right, and I for one have first hand experience with the pin above its a tough layout unless you really can rev it up!

Hopefully my buddy Daniel has got it set-up for me.

I second that... drill it strong and pin under.  It still gets down the lane, reads, and makes a hard arc to the pocket.

notclay is dead on here. Before I bought mine, I discussed this ball with BrunsBob (Robert Lawrence) and Bob said that the people that claim it didn't work well for them were trying to play it in more oil than the ball was made for. He said the ball was intended to be played as notclay has stated here.

I totally agree with Trubador here.

Personally, I can say it's just about the best ball I've ever thrown.  With the right layout, I guarantee anyone will love this ball.

*Just an update*

The lovely lady gave me an early birthday present and got me a Twisted today and you guys were right about the "strong drill/ball goes long naturally" theory. I like what I saw in practice..the real test comes this Tuesday/Thursday, its nice to get Twisted on the weekend
