TOC?
« on: April 17, 2012, 08:45:48 AM »
No one even mentions that Rash, a Brunswick staffer, won the Tournament of Champions?

No one even mentions that Rash won using a Versa-max?

These are strange times.

Charlest,

There is a huge discussion in the forum titles "Congrats to Rash" in the PBA Forum.

Both he and Ciminelli bowled great.

Rash using the Versa Max and Ryan using the Nexxus P=R shined up.  Did they say that Sean Rash set the season average record?  Does anyone have those details?

I saw all that.

But this is THE Brunswick forum. Instead of all the "discussion/argument" about  whether or not to post SPOILER int he heading, why is there no BRUNSWICK discussion here about THEIR staffer and THEIR ball?

Like, Rash is #1 in average breaking a PBA record and in points thru the season, yet he has only this one win.

Like, all the discussion on TV was whether Belmonte or Fagan woudl win and how that would affect Bowler of the year honors, yet Rash threw a huge monkey wrench into the voting and how will they determine the winner now???

That's my point. I really thought it would be a major BRUNSWICK discussion, not just a PBA discussion.

Yeah.  Even though he only won once, he probably should get it.  Sets the average record.  Made what...8 shows?  Points Leader.  And the win was the TOC.  Could be the toughest voting yet considering the years that Fagan and Belmo had.

Don't forget that Duke had a few titles in there also.  But you are right in saying it will be a very tough vote.  My guess is that Rash could potentially edge out Belmonte and Fagan on the fact of winning another major, having the highest average, and being the points leader for the year.

Although I am not a Rash fan by any means, if I was one of the voters, my vote would definitely go to Rash, hands down. In my opinion, he is the most deserving of the three.

It was nice to see the finals dominated by Brunswick for a change. Reminds me of the older days when Brunswick dominated. It has been an up hill climb for Brunswick since moving to Mexico, but it appears Brunswick has arrived and I think they are going to stay there for a while. They probably have the best lineup of balls that they have had for a long time.

I was just disappointed to learn that Rash wasn't throwing a Quantum Raven.

The only negative to Rash is that he had so much success at one venue.  We all know bowlers tend to match up, good or bad, to different houses, lane surfaces, carry characteristics, oils...  If the PBA had a "normal" schedule instead of the WSOB Rash would have a stronger argument.  It's not his fault and he did it on multiple patterns, but to me it's a little less impressive.  It always a hard decision when one person has a lot of stats and few titles and another has less stats and more titles.  Should be an interesting vote.

Nails,

What you say is true and applies to Belmonte even moreso.  Didn't he win 3 titles in something like 1 day on the same lanes?

Could be.  I don't even know when/how they bowled the individual events of the WSOB.  Were they consecutive days, or weeks, or?  They showed those things in a kind of random order.  Rash was on like 6? consecutive (TV) shows so it was easy to pin point him.  Belmo's were a little more scattered about.  I was making more of a general point since people are also talking about Duke and Fagan also.  Heck, two of Duke's titles weren't even televised.  The WSOB makes this year's voting very interesting.
