Intense Inferno drilling suggestions

What would be a good drilling on an Intense Inferno for dry-light oil lanes? I know the ball is condition specific, but I want to give it a try. Just some suggestions would help.

It's about a 3" pin, 3 oz. top weight. Thanks!

Your profile says you already have a Power Groove drilled for dry lanes with pin above the bridge. If that is working for you properly on light oil lanes, the Intense is likely to be too strong, even with a weak drilling. With a weak drilling, it might fit above the PG to cover medium-light to medium oiled lanes. The Intense is NOT condition specific; its higher RG core just helps it get length along with the basic nature of the Activator+ cover. The cover is also very strong at the breakpoint.

Charlest, he sold the PG and slayr.

My recommendation is:

Pin 5 3/4" from axis, cg in palm, sand to 2000 or 4000 grit, 18 cycles in the luster king, four additional coats of bwick high gloss, throw on some turtle wax....then you could use it on lighter oil...maybe.

Andrew,

Funny stuff, but not actually far off the mark.
I had to sand my Intense to 2000 grit and then re-polish with Brunswick's high gloss polish to get it to work for the first game+ on old wood lanes that start out medium-light. Still had to put it away before 3rd game. That ball was drilled 4" pin, next to ring finger, CG in grip center. Redrilled it pin at 5", pin over ring finger and restored it to out of the box finish. Better but still needed finer grit. Just resanded it to 1000 grit and re-polished. Still nowhere near a light oil ball!

Yeah, my profile hasn't been update for quite sometime! lol! I know it will be a stretch to get this ball to do what I want, but I think I can make it work. What is the biggest difference between this ball and the Origianl Inferno?

The core is the big difference, IMO.  It is a higher rg core, which means it revs up later down the lane and has skid/snap characteristics.  The cover is Activator plus, which is slightly cleaner through the fronts and slightly stronger on the backend.  Honestly, I don't notice much of a difference between the two coverstocks.

I have mine drilled 1:30 thinking the ball would roll even but i never thought i could use it on so many different conditions. I Keep the cover un polised white scotch brite. when the lanes get burnt i dont try to swing the ball i try and square up and play around 5.Its not my first choice for dry lanes but it can work maybe even better with some polish.
