Total Inferno Help
« on: February 21, 2007, 02:37:39 AM »
I could use some help.
I am looking at getting a new ball and I am caught between the Total Inferno and the Black Widow. I am leaning towards the TI.
I like throwing across the third arrow out to about the first and then the ball comes back. I am using a Bruns attitude 3 (I know its old) that is why I want a new ball.
I am a right hander and average approx. 185. But I'm not knowledgeable about all the pin placement stuff. Just looking for a good ball for lanes that are usually med oily to heavy and dry out.
Any thoughts about this decision would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have one of these and I have it drilled aggessiveley to handle the heavy oil, and its a monster. It hooked so much and so early, I had to polish it to keep it on the lane.

I say TI, drilled to hook and hook hard. It wont let you down. Especially if you like to swing it, because Im a stroker/swinger. The Black widow will die soon and once it gets oily it shines up and then it doenst hook as much, so you have to keep the maintainence up. The TI is great and will require a little less maintainence IMO, but of course you still need to keep it clean.

The TI is great but I think the Angular One is the best ball out so I would recommend it over the TI and I have them both. Love them both but they Angular just seems special to me.

I have the Total Inferno and have used it on many different alleys and lane conditions and it doesnt always seem to have a consistent hook, but I also don't have high rev's and I dont throw across the lane.
My brother has the Hammer No Mercy and it seems to always hook very hard and consistant over many lane conditions, if i could change my purchase I would have got the No Mercy!....and im a brunswick man....
I also think that the No Mercy has higher hook potential than the Black Widow but I not 100% sure about it..
There's a lot of bowlers that know a lot more than me on this site....so I guess all I'm saying is just check out the No Mercy..you may be surprized on how nasty of a backend it really has....but i'm not sure if its made for throwing across the lane like you throw?? let the bowling gods on this site answer that for you

Well most likely, it's a THS, and I think buying a TI for a med-heavy THS is kind of pointless.

Well, that's the condition for which I drilled my Total, and it works like a champ for me.

However, your mileage may vary...

I think if you want to replace the tude you are looking at the wrong toys here, I would think the raw hammer Toxic might be a better choice for a similar albeit stronger reaction to the tude.  I love my Total, I would just suggest a little polish or do what i did and go to 2000 abralon, I really makes the ball DOMINATE a house shot and I feel makes it much nicer than the Widow but thats just me.
