Radical Results
« on: October 14, 2006, 10:40:41 AM »
Okay I just threw my new Radical today in a tournament (Ive had another one for a month at OOB surface). It is a 2 3/4" pin drilled at 4" below the fingers and the CG at 55degrees with an x-hole on the PAP.

First set I go 231, 239, 188 for a 658 series playing a small swing shot of 14 to 7. Not bad. The last game I had a couple of problems with over/under. So, at the break, I take the cover to 2000 Abralon. The next set I go 253, 300, 256 for an 809!!!! I was swinging the ball 22 out to 5. I get my 3rd 300 and my 2nd 800. What I've heard about this ball is definetly true. If you dont like the OOB surface, take it to 2000.

Despite what others are saying about this ball, DONT BE FOOLED!!!!! This is a great ball as long a you match up the cover to your game.

Roll on my Crown Bearers, Roll on!

You are allowed to make surface adjustments between sets at a tournament. Not between games though.

It would largely depend on the format Inverted.  Assuming there wasn't different squads then, yea I'd say a rule was broken.

If there's a break between squads then your allowed to change the balls surface. I've done it lots of times.

I guess the answer lies in the format....

Let me ask this:

You have qualifying, then a step ladder final, can you alter the surface at that time?  I would say no, b/c it is the same ball that was entered into play previously.

However, at nationals, you bowl team then break(be it a few hours or a day) for d and s.  You could do as you wish in that instance.

I think we need to stop being so technical, and honor the mans scores.

Great job buddy!

just to clear something up:

The tournament was not sanctioned to begin with.

I will not change my name since the 809 won't be honored.

The scores didn't carry over to the next round.

Thanks to all of you for both your support and your concern.

Regarding the radical, I totally agree. I've had mine for about a month, and I've thrown more strikes with it than my other two balls in the past three months. This is the first Brunswick ball I've ever had.
Kudos on your honor scores!!!

Are you out of your freaking mind. Once the block is over you can change the cover. I have done that many times.

I was incorrect, I'll remove my post.  Nice scores.
