Raging Inferno

Brunswick Guys,

Is the Raging Inferno a heavy oil ball or is it not what you would want for that condition?

I suppose if you dull it up and drill it early...But you'd be better off just buying an ultimate, Goliath (the biggest hooker), or finding a warp zone somewhere (just been discontinued).

I liked the Raging for oily conditions, but it had to be fresh with clean backends to be most effective. It worked great on that when other oil balls were to strong downlane. It was usually good to get me through the first game
or two of a tournament until carrydown became too much for it, then it was time  for a ball change.

Tony, Robert has pretty much described it dead on.  If the oil is heavy, but the backends are clean, the Raging will work, but if they aren't clean, or there is carrydown, something like a goliath will work better.  Good luck.

I disagree that the Goliath would be the ball to switch to after there is some carrydown. One would be better suited switching to something with more backend, like a Classic Zone or Absolute depending on how much oil is present.

How would a couple of pearl reactives bite more in carrydown??  They would just skid.  I've never heard of going to a longer ball to fight carrydown.

They retain energy longer, and you'll get recovery.

You forget that Activator pearls DO hook, and DO create friction. Also, the cores are stronger in the Classic/Absolute/Inferno compared to the RI.

Nick, I think that really depends on the bowler.  It may work for you, but I seriously doubt I'd see a stroker doing better on heavy oil with carrydown with a classic zone, than something like a UI.

Bowl some tournaments, try out more equipment first hand, and then give a point of view of how equipment works.

This game is not figured out on paper, but out on the lanes.

So Nick, you're basically saying I'm an idiot everytime I switched from my screamr to the bruiser to combat carrydown, that I should have gone to my power groove?  Sure buddy.

Low RG Pearl Vs High RG Pearl Groove??!

You've drifted off, take a breather, get whatever chip you have on your shoulder off and try some other time. Your fung shui needs help.

Looks like we've had a misunderstanding.  It looked like you were generalizing that you should always go to a pearl reactive for carrydown after using a particle, but I see you were strictly talking about this scenario.  Now it makes sense...
