They are coming out with the Swarm. Also the Twisted Fury can be skid/flip with proper layout and surface prep.

I have the fury, what kind of layout and surface prep would i need to do?

the layout i use on the fury 4 1/2 to pap and 45, pin 2", no x hole.  I was thinking putting a x-hole 2 1/4" down on val, would that make a difference?

You say a Fury, so I assume you mean a Twisted. If that is what you have then the layout should be good not knowing your speed and revs. How's the surface on it? If it is not polished I would polish it. Start around 1000 abralon and then polish. This will help to push the ball down lane and turn sharper at the break point. If you have the original Fury it will be tough to get that ball to be angular. Maybe someone else on here has had luck with that. But I did not. As far as the weight hole down, no this will not help. A weight hole down helps the ball pick up more in the mid lane and smoother on the back end. Hope this helps.

yes i mean twisted, My speed is around 14-15 mph with med revs. I have the ball sanded down to 2000 abralon and alittle polish on it.  The ball just seems to just push down the lane and doesn't want to turn back.  Unlike my FP, the FP snaps back hard in the pocket, OOB finish.

I will try to knock it down to 1000 abralon and see how that works.   Thanks!

With your speed being a little on the soft side the pin postion is a little on the strong side to be skid/flip. You could try a 5 inch pin with a 50* layout with the pin up. I believe you said that the ball has a 2 inch pin. You will have to drill the finger holes deep. If you are looking for something a little better than you should wait until the Swarm comes out. Its only like 3 weeks. Also another option would be the Avalanche Pearl. This ball is all about skid/flip and is also on the cheaper side. Don't let the price ful ya, as it still hits and carries like a high price ball. You will have to drill it strong because of the weaker core and cover.

Also try some surface underneath the polish. My Twisted is 320 plus a rather gritty compound (Storm #1) and it is just right. I tried it at 2000 plus polish early on and it went way too long for me.

The cover and core of the Twisted already gives you good length, so I prefer strong layouts with the Twisted, then adjust the surface to match your condition.

The Swarm does look like a good skid/snap ball, too.

Currently, the TF is IMHO the ball that would offer the best SS reaction base. Many other candidates (Fury Pearl, Vapor Zone) just have been discontinued. From what I have seen, the VZ has, when drilled sharp, some very good flip potential, while the Fury Pearl, even though advertised as a sharp ball even at 4.000 grit OOB, is much smoother than advertised, even when truly polished.

Besides, flip balls from Brunswick have rarely been successful, they disappear quickly, e. g. the Intense Inferno, Smokin' Inferno or Radical Inferno. They seem to be very condition specific, and/or need surface tuning to make them work properly.

Another option might be MoRich - Brunswick covers with some killer cores that can create some SERIOUS flip if drilled accordingly

Well, if you're talking *pure* skid-snap, IME there's nothing in the Brunswick line that will outdo the Power Groove Reactive.
