Twisted Fury
« on: November 09, 2007, 01:03:49 PM »
Even though I do used it anymore but I have good success with the solid Fury and would like to know how this twisted Fury will fit between the solid n the pearl ? Or is this ball a beginning of another Fury series ? thanks !

Rico question on the surface.

What differences did you guys notice when you tested it with the Rough-buff vs High Gloss ?

What kind of (if any) reaction changes would you see going with the polish vs instead of the Rough-buff ?

It's starting to sound like an Intense Inferno to me - albeit with nicer colors!
Yet reaction numbers are identical to the Original Inferno.
How much difference would there be between a TF and an II given equal surface prep??

This had been the "year from H*E*L*L" at work. 70 and 80 hour weeks - needless to say bowling and Ballreviews.com has not been a priority. I'm probably gonna order one. I'm also thinking of my teammate who is trying to fit something tween his polished Fury (solid) and a 4000 surfaced II with a pin over ring layout. Sounds like an TF might fit in there with the right layout/surface.

All,

I have drilled 2 TF's. Both with the primary pin at 5" from axis, but one with the psa at 55 degrees and one at 30 degrees in relationship to my axis.

What I have noticed with the TF is the ball is very different from anything Brunswick has ever produced. It is VERY CLEAN through the fronts and more angular in the backend.

I would agree with Rico that the PF would be a bit more overall, but earlier and smoother than the TF.

The TF is much more versatile than the PF or even the Vapor Zone.

As Rico stated, this cover is very versatile. It takes surface adjustments very well. Plus, I really like the core. The overall dif. is low enough to allow the driller to use several different pin placements. With past Brunswick asymmetric cores, high rev. players were very limited in pin and psa placements. With the lower overall dif., higher rg and higher intermediate dif., this will allow the driller to be "creative" for every type of player.

One other thing I want to mention, the color combination is very good with this ball. The colors are vibrant, but not so contrasting that it is difficult to read ball reaction.

The 30 degree definately starts up a bit sooner.

I used it this weekend on the 44' Shark pattern after they broke down. I like using this psa layout on longer patterns, or when there isn't significant dry to throw to. It will help in not overshooting the breakpoint.

What I really liked about the Twisted, it seemed to give me a board or two more recovery than any other ball I had in my bag, Brunswick or other.

One thing I think we need to mention Ric, with the higher rg and lower overall dif., drillers should drill this ball with the pin about 1/2" stronger.

For instance, if you like a Vapor Zone with a primary pin 5" from axis, don't be afraid to drill the Twisted 4 1/2" from axis.

Correct.

The 30 degree psa is one of my favorites with Vapors, and is now with the Twisted.

RicoH,

What do you think? Should we put the other Twisted at 4.5" high pin with a 30 degree layout?

Verbs,

What are your pin locations? They're both 5" high or low?

Looking at the numbers this appears to compare well (dynamically at least) with the Impulse Zone, I assume they'd be similar in terms of hook, but the impulse would be earlier and smoother?

What's going on here..? If the pin is in the same place/same distance from the PAP, the reaction will be the same..!! Core angle doesn't matter..!! Stop drinking the Kool Aid or go over to the Lane #1 forum..!! =:^D

Core angle seems to matter in a ball with a relevant mass bias...
