Twisted Fury Pearl -> TF solid?
« on: December 02, 2008, 04:29:45 AM »
If I fully sanded a TF pearl with, oh say, a 2000 grit Abralon pad, would it then approximate the general reaction AND oil handling of a Twisted Fury solid with the same drilling?

I normally do this test myself, but I'm in the middle of so many ball surface changes right now that I don't have the time. Anyone played with these 2 balls.

I love the TF Pearl with the stock RB surface polished lightly, but they changed the oil or the cold recent temperatures changed the way it plays. The TFP backends like a Break Pearl these days- too uncontrollable. I'm not fond of covering 30 - 35 boards.

Jeff,

My solid, even with polish, was earlier than the pearl at 2000. I had the same layout on both, too. My pin down pearl was great, but looking back I should have gone pin above fingers on the solid, and still added some sort of shine.

Maybe it has to do with lane conditions, but I believe the solid needs a good amount of oil. I hope this helps.

Yes, it does, of course. My pin in the TFP is in the ring finger.
