Twisted Fury Comparison Question
« on: January 07, 2008, 02:31:40 AM »
Hey all,

Been a while since I've posted, but am looking at getting a new ball and wanted some feedback. My current arsenal includes a Smokin Inferno, Vapor Zone, and Ultimate Inferno. I am interested in picking up a twisted fury and am curious as to how the reaction might be different from what I already have on the same conditions. Check my profile for some information about my stats. Sorry if a similar post to this has already been posted, but I did a search and found nothing. Thanks guys!

The Twisted is more versatile than the Smokin' due to the stronger cover.  You can leave it slightly duller than box finish for earlier but strong finish, or you can polish it more to give it extra length.

My Vapor is a favorite, but the Twisted is catching up real fast. Bob Hanson's assessment looks accurate to me.

I only have 4 games on my TF, but did throw it side by side for comparison purposes with a King Quantum (overseas gray colored OI clone). TF is drilled with the pin about 3/4 closer to the PAP - both have pins above ring. Both have similar surface prep (2000 abralon). TF is more "even" in reaction. Both are clean through the fronts. The OI wanted to react more quickly to friction, and was also a bit more skatey in oil. Obviously a totally different cover than the OI. Even though its seen limited usage - it was so good that I have a second one getting punched (Rico), and am seriously considering adding a third one with a layout similar to the first one but put an 800 grit surface on it to give me a another STRONG ball.

I have hade my twisted fury about 2 weeks with 11 games on it and all i can say is WOW! I am ready to buy 5 more. I have over those 11 games a 238 average. The ball hit the pocket perfect and the pins fly all over. Have not left splits at all with this ball but have left a few solid 9 or 4 but have had a lot more strikes than anything. This ball is stronger than my total inferno. I play about 3 boards deeper than the TI. You will need oil for this ball it is clean thourgh the heads midlane is good and then it turns left on the backend. Seems to handle carry down well but if the midlane dries up then you will have to make adjustments.Great ball.
