richard fairley, jr., of lynchburg, virginia, recently won the u.s. national amateur championship using brunswick equipment. fairley, who bowls for virginia tech university, used the raging inferno, inferno, and monster frenzy during the tournament. fairley has also been named to team usa. congrats and good luck in the future !

I've bowled with Fairley alot in college and junior tournaments and it couldn't have happened to a better guy. He really bowled well and its nice to see someone you know pretty well bowl great at such a high level. He's also having an MVP season at V-Tech. It was funny, just at the college tournament a week before the Team USA trials I was talking to him and he said he wanted to try Brunswick since he was using Ebonite exclusively for the past 2-3 years and he wanted to get on Brunswick's staff but he didn't think he was "Good Enough". Well after winning the Colgate Invitational averaging 240+ and winning the Amatuer Championships in back to back weeks, along with being a former JR. Team USA member, I'm sure his resume is impressive enough so I expect the "B" to be knocking at his door any day now.

I agree with DP3, we've bowled a couple college tournaments against Vtech and Richard and he's always been a great guy to bowl with/against. Couldn't be happier for a guy to be the amateur champion. As far as Brunswick goes, i didn't know he had been using any either until i read their website. I remember in the past him throwin ebonite. I agree that Brunwick would be making a good investment by scooping him. Good luck and hope to congradulate him at the next tournament.
