Fire Quantum..drill recomendations
« on: April 14, 2006, 03:48:10 AM »
Bought a new Fire a couple of months ago and it came with a 2" pin,not my preferred of 3.5"...I've never had a ball with such a short pin before so let the local pro-shop talk me into drilling with pin over bridge and cg under ring finger.  Its a great ball, I have 7 other quantums but I am unhappy with the ball reaction.  My ball speed is low (14.5) but my revs are up (325).

What reaction might I expect if I drilled it 3and 3/8 in from my PAP (5i/4 over and 1/2 up) Smooth and long or flipped??? I prefer more of arcing ball then skid-snap.    Thanks for your advice...DR "C"

then you bought the wrong ball, if you dont have it already, buy a Raven Quantum, that will feed the need for smooth.

BTW, usually if you like a smooth arc, i'd suggest the pin be closer to PAP than 3½" x-hole below midline.
