Grrr... I was supposed to be first to reply.

The Black Widow is very angular.  It will be hard to find a Brunswick ball that does what the Black Widow does.  Maybe - maybe an Absolute Inferno.  With a long enough pin and correct drilling, it may become comparable, but, as Roundabout put it, the Black Widow is closest to the Black Widow.

How about the Total Inferno.  It is pretty close to the BW with the right surface.

Nothing except the Vapor Zone and Rampage have a hook shape like the Black Widow. Big B's stuff rolls and reads the midlane differently. I'd say the Vapor Zone is the closest, but that doesn't mean it's as strong in oil. It's a great ball, though.

We have a Team in my league where the 2 better players use a Black Widow and a Vapor Zone. The one who is using the Black Widow have the pin over the ring finger, the Vapor Zone guy have the pin slightly kicked right but still up. They throw the exact same line and have similar reactions and similar averages. We call them twins. Don't know if this will help you.

I could see that at 4000 moving like a BW.

If you're not contractually obligated, why not just get a Black Widow?  The ball has a good enough rep.  I have a boatload of Brunswick equipment because it matches up very well to my game, but if there's a reaction out there that I know they do not have in the lineup, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to drill the other companies' ball.

With that in mind, the closest reaction to a BW would be a pin high Red Zone.  The Red Zone will still want to face up earlier and roll more off the spot if you're a higher rev player.
