Intense vs Punisher

Our Thursday night league has shorten and it appears to me lightened the pattern.  I have my Intense with is 5 x 3 1/2, but it seems to read earlier than I want it to.  The reaction is great but my inferno is very close in overall hook, it is just reacts later.

Anywho, I am trying to sell my sledgehammer and Shock Zone(free plug).  I am thinking of purchasing a punisher.  Has anyone thrown the punisher and Intense side by side??  I would like to know your thoughts.  

If it is the same or slightly stronger, I may pick up another PG and drill it more aggressively than my current one.

I polished the crap out of my intense, I will post results tonight.  If I still don't think I need it, I may have a single drill intense for sale as well.

i have the intense inferno and my dad just got a punisher.  we have the same spans and i am prolly goin to give it a toss at leagues tonight.  Message me tonight and I will let you know my thoughts.

I've thrown the Intense and Punisher side-by-side.  My Intense is drilled 2L;  my Punisher is drilled 4L.  The Intense...well, you already know how the Intense reacts.  The Punisher is significantly weaker (three to five boards on a house condition);  it's very straight in front, and then goes into a moderate arc in the late midlane.  It pretty much splits the difference between my Zone Classic and Monster SlayR in terms of length, sharpness, and overall hook.

Well, the Intense was too much, too early.  My PG(7" pin to pap) was totally unplayable from the outside with my normal release.  I did end up trying the intense the last game from 26 to 8, with zero good results.  I honestly think it was burning up before it hit the pocket.  My XXXL was playable up the 7 board.  

Anywho, it doesn't look like the Punisher will do me any good.  I need to practice fluffing the ball.  A couple of nohanders shot 7, figures...........

Andrew,

Not sure how much polish affects the Intense. When I first got mine, I did add a bunch of Brunswick's high gloss polish. It seemed to make little difference.

Then I tried sanding the Intense to 2000 grit and then took the B'wick's hi-gloss polish to it. THAT did make a difference: more length and less backend.

Now the silly fools actually went to more oil, so I took it back up to 600 grit and re-polished AND added a weight hole inside my PAP.

Very flexible ball; still hits H-A-R-D !!!
