How did you drill your Chrome Yellow PowerGroove?
« on: April 07, 2004, 08:14:24 AM »

I need a ball for the dry, and I think this is going to be my choice. Just curious how people have drilled their Chrome Yellow PowerGroove and what success they have had with it. Thx!

I have a Ice Blue Pearl, and it's drilled over the label. Perfect for dry lanes, lots of carry and pin action.

I'll get better someday......I hope!

I drilled mine pin right of ring, cg kicked (3-4" pin). This drill is a little too strong for the dry, I'd highly recommend going over the ring stacked. Very nice ball, great carry, hits a bit like my Blazing.

Due to the spin rate of this ball I have seen two different drillings used for drier lane conditions by the people whom have them:

1. Pin either in the grip line or in the negative to kill the flare...the cg usually is in the grip line.

2. Pin axis...yup, pin axis!  There is a VERY heavy handed player on the tournament curcuit I bowl and this ball works well for him on drier lane conditions.

Joe, could you compare this ball to your blazing? I'm guessing that the Blazing hooks more than the Chrome Yellow, but what else have you learned between these two Brunswick balls?

Well, I picked one up and did a 4x4 layout. So far I've used it just once... it hooks more than I expected, but I need a little more time with it to fully evaluate.

I've got a Ice Blue Pearl drilled over the label, cg in the palm, and it still turns pretty hard if I need it too. But these are a sweeet ball.
