Ultimate Inferno for oil?

I recently bot an Ultimate Inferno I drilled it stacked leverage off of my pap,box finish,and that thing does not do a damn thing in oil.I've tried many different grit of scotch brites nothing.Its good on a med to dry shoot.Has anybody had this problem?

i had pin above ring finger and cg down and to the right of that(with narrow weight hole)

2nd highest game ever for me the first game i threw it.....after that HATED IT(gotta say it like "men on film" from in living color)

burned up on drier stuff...slid on oil...sideroll(worked better),forward roll(no).....like my power diesel so much more...sorry

would hit like when barnes used to throw his polished one on tv....hit the pocket and deflect right

and i gave it away

...just my experience BUT i'm no expert

Remember the Ultimate Inferno is a mid lane ball. It clears the heads and rexvs up and has a lot of backend. The Ultimate performs best when the heads start to burn a little and the backends get tight.

It sounds your Ultimate doesn't hook at all. If the lanes are slick from front to back you might need a Particle ball like a GOLIATH to help your ball get into an early roll.

rick benoit of brunswick warned me about this ball. he says you must have oil for it to store energy for the backend. he said too often people will use too much surface when it's not really needed. this is what i have been seeing as of late. mine right now is wetsanded 1,000 grit and it's hitting the pocket but leaving 10's and 7's----way too many of them. i'm going to sand it finer and polish it and give it a try.

if the lanes are truely that slick a dull particle ball may be a better idea.

I keep hearing this same talk. I recently heard there was a bad run of this and that, first blazings now ultimates.  I like brunswick and I understand that they are "good at making things right" but doesn't this seem like a lot of mistakes that shouldn't be happening in the first place aren't they one of the biggest ball companys if not the biggest.

I'm sorry, but I have not heard of a bad run of Ultimates. We did have a batch of Blazings that went straight, but the only bad Ultimate I've seen had a mismarked CG. If you continue to have a problem with it, have your ball driller watch you throw it and see what they think. I have yet to see an Ultimate not hook. It does need a little more surface maitenance than the other Infernos in order to keep it hooking the way you want if you use it dull.

yeah i've been thinkin the same thing... i had mine drilled 1E thinking it'd be a monster, yet it only hooks enough on lighter patterns with enough power to drive through the pins. i was bowling saturday morning, medium not alot of backend, and my Ebonite Tornado lt blue/violet was outhooking it and had better carry. even when i hit the pocket with the inferno(at least 6 times before putting it away) i got one sloppy strike, the rest were solid ten pins.

well, the guy working there said it was medium oil, with my Tornado lt blue/violet, i had to play almost straight down between 3rd and 4th arrow and just have it turn the corner. so i decided to test out my UI and was expecting to be able to throw a little of a belly on it and have it come back at least. it just gave me about 2-3 boards extra hook on the backend and when it hit the pocket, it gave a solid ten everytime except one, where it was very sloppy. i throw around 14mph and probably little less than medium revs. i take it medium would be sufficient enough to stop it from burning up in the first ten feet even if i swung it out standing 35 through the middle (where most of the oil is)?
