Title: Ultimate Inferno or Strike Zone
Post by: MarvinsSkeleton on January 16, 2007, 01:14:35 AM
After talking with my pro shop guy about a heavy oil ball, he suggested that I stick with Brunswick since I love their reaction.  He was dead set on me finding an Ultimate Inferno online and bringing it in.

After doing some searching I can get an Ultimate Inferno for $106.99 or a Strike Zone for $96.99.  Looks like they use the same cover with the Strike Zone having the Asymmetrical core.  Right now I am throwing a Vapor Zone and love the reaction of this ball (from what I hear it is close to the reaction of the Absolute).

Just wanted to listen to some input from the Brunswick guys and see which ball you suggest.  Thanks!

I have both and love their reaction in heavy oil. Don't miss the UI, u still can
find the SZ but not the UI. I just buy my 3rd UI last week.

i've never thrown the SZ, but as far as the UI goes, excellent ball. from the few responses that you've gotten so far, i don't think you can make a bad choice between the two of them.

I don't have anything to add, but I'd sure like to know who out there still has NIB Ultimate Infernos.

The Strike Zone is a great ball for heavy oil.

Strike Zone out of those two. However, a Mammoth would be better.

Honestly I have never been impressed by the ultimate and never seen anybody do that much with a sz either though.  I would look at something newer if I were u.
Scorchin Inferno
Total Inferno
Mammoth

I would choose the SZ if you are set on those 2

Personally, I'd go with the Strike Zone. The Ultimate was real smooth, but the Strike Zone opened up the lane a little better. Good luck.

Wow, someone brought up my old post, and seeing as I still haven't made a new purchase, it's good to see the new input.  I am thinking about picking up a couple new balls soon and believe I will try to find a Strike Zone pretty cheap if possible.  Thanks again!

Actually I was mistaken....cheapbowlingballs.com doesn't have them, but I know I saw them on somebodies site, and I can't remember whos...it was bowlingball.com
