I had a Sidewinder for a few weeks but I moved back up to 15 pounds so I gave it to a friend of mine. I need a benchmark ball and I'm thinking about picking another one up because I did like the ball but I'm intrigued by the Ultra Zone. Just looking for some opinions for those who use one of these as a benchmark ball.

For me the Ultra goes slightly longer and turns a little harder. In my opinion you can't go wrong with either one.

Ultra Zone hands down. The Sidewinder is good anywhere you need to control the backend reaction, otherwise it pretty much sucks.

When don't you want to control the backends?

Good point NOrth, I never cared for the Sidewinder. With that said I do like the versatility of the Ultra Zone. You might also keep your eyes open for the new releases the Swarm and Copperhead.

Exactly.

In my experiences with both of them the sidewinder is smooth and the ultra zone was always too unpredictable. I am not really a fan of either of these balls but I do really enjoy the Twisted Fury, Blast Zone, and Vapor Zone.
